Japanese Sex-Clubs Employ Robots

Human touts used to stand on the street outside sex clubs in Osaka
enticing potential customers to visit the clubs. But today, there are
laws against immoral activities to prevent this. It turns out there's
no law against robots
doing the job. So, sex clubs can now buy a humanoid robot that will
stand outside their club waving a banner and attracting new customers.
The robot tout is a 500,000 yen upgrade to one of the traffic directing
robots that are common throughout Japan. Will the robot run afoul of
the law that targets humans? "It's a robot, so no problem"
said one representative of the new robot service. For more, see the
original Japanese
article.
