The US Postal Service will turn 400 mailboxes into R2-D2
look-alikes as part of their plan to celebrate the 30 year
anniversary of the release of Star Wars. The BBC reports that the droid
mailboxes are "part of a post office campaign for the announcement of a
surprise stamp on 28 March." The USPS say citizens are "urged not to
tamper with the
droid mail collectors." Could there really be any Star Wars fans who
will want one of those 400 R2-D2 mailboxes for their very own enough to
steal it? The USPS has put up a website about the event that
will go live on March 28. More details and photos of an army of R2-D2
mailboxes can be found over at TheForce.Net
