Almost Human? Not Yet, Says LA Times Reviewer

The LA
Times offers a book review of Lee Gutkind's book, Almost
Human: Making Robots Think. Far from being almost human, the
reviewer finds Gutkind's description of the state robotics "more
about frustration than achievement. Despite the round-the-clock efforts
of the best and the brightest, today's real-life robots are a dim,
lumbering lot, a far cry from the wise, nimble models of science
fiction."
Despite his frustration, the reviewer concludes that
Gutkind's book is worth the read for it's ability to make readers
understand "why these scientists chase after their quixotic dream".
